A mixed reality visual merchandising application powered by Microsoft.

Developed as part of the Future of Fashion Incubator, Owen’s group created Augmenta, a tool that allows visual merchandisers to design the retail spaces of their dreams.

Using the Microsoft HoloLens, the user can select virtual assets from the library and place them into their surrounding environment, building spaces in real time.

Unlike the traditional approach, the designer is not restricted to the physical world, and there is a lot less waste, making the design process far more sustainable.

Working together as a team to develop the Augmenta visual merchandising application.

Testing the capabilities of the Microsoft HoloLens and Mixed Reality technology.

To demonstrate the app, Owen’s group teamed up with project ambassador and fashion designer, Hayley Elsaesser, to create a pop-up shop in her signature brand style.

The project results were unveiled at a special showcase at the Oval Space in East London with press and industry leaders in attendance.

“At the London College of Fashion, it’s vital we bridge the gap between fashion and technology and support a new generation of designers who understand new media. It will impact everything they do.”
